What a Post-Construction Cleaning Quote Should Include
A simple template for comparing bids side by side, so the cheapest quote is not the one that leaves things out.

Quick answer
A good post-construction cleaning quote lists the property, the scope by room, the number of visits, exclusions, the fixed price, the schedule, proof of insurance and WCB coverage, and what happens if something is missed.
Two quotes for the same house can differ because they cover different work. This guide gives you the line items to ask for, so every bid is measured the same way.
The Basics
- Property address, size and number of levels
- Type of build: new home, renovation or commercial
- Number of visits and the purpose of each
- Target dates and access arrangements
The Scope
Scope should be listed by room and surface, not summarised. If glass, appliance interiors, vents or garages are not named, assume they may not be included.
Exclusions
Ask what is not included. Common exclusions are debris removal, pressure washing, window exteriors on upper floors and paint or adhesive removal that needs special products.
Price and Payment Terms
- A fixed price tied to the written scope
- Payment timing, such as on completion
- What triggers extra charges, if anything
- Whether taxes are included
Proof and Protection
Request a liability insurance certificate and WCB clearance with the quote. This is standard for builder and commercial work and protects you if something is damaged.
Return Visit Policy
Ask what happens if you find missed items after the clean. A provider that commits to return for punch-list items in writing is worth more than a slightly lower price.
